Volunteers
The Friends of Old Fort Stevens is a 501(C)3 nonprofit corporation.
We are a non-profit corporation whose mission is to support Fort Stevens State Park, located near the mouth of the Columbia River on the Oregon side.Fort Stevens was a coastal defense fort and saw active service from the Civil War days to the end of World War II.
Fort Stevens State Park, in addition to excellent camping and RV facilities, has many interesting artifacts from its fort days that continue to intrigue visitors.
The Friends of Old Fort Stevens, Inc., Assist with the interpretation and preservation of Fort Steven's rich history. Here are some examples:
The Friends sponsor tours of the park's Historic Area
The Friends are actively involved in the reconstruction of the Civil War earthworks. We are having made some replica Civil War Cannons for the earthworks. Several are on display
The Friends arranged for and funded the Pacific Rim Peace Memorial
The Friends fund a variety of annual action plans designed to fulfill its mission of assisting with the interpretation and preservation of Fort Stevens State Park.
Why not join the Friends of Old Fort Stevens?
The Friends of Old Fort Stevens offers individual annual memberships for $20.00 or if retired, for $10.00. A family membership, for all those in the household, may be purchased for an additional $5.00
Benefits of membership include newsletter, a fifty percent discount on admission prices for special events, a fifty percent discount on Friends' tours within the Fort Stevens State Park Historical Area, and a ten percent discount on all purchases at the Fort Stevens Military Museum Interpretive Store (see Gift Shop on this web site).
